Jonathan Cartu Stated: New pc science program in Augusta County is making waves with college students


AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) — A brand new pc science program is making a distinction in three Augusta County colleges, only one semester after it started. The county received a grant in 2019 that covers two years of the net program.

The elective course permits college students to jot down and enter code, then run it right into a software program program to see if it really works. Some college students and lecturers at Fort Defiance Excessive College say the course helps plan college students plan for his or her future.

“There’s gonna be over 1,000,000 jobs in 2020 which are unfilled that contain pc science. It is only a rising area,” Atticus Nafziger, a Fort Defiance sophomore, stated.

“Synthetic intelligence, coding, robotics – that is not going away. We want it. We have to practice our college students,” Angela Deitz, an educational supervisor at Fort Defiance Excessive College, stated.
